Born:  2 October 1910 - Mt. Zion Community, Anderson, Texas
Died:  23 July 1976 - Memorial Hospital - Palestine, Anderson, Texas
Father:  Felix Stephens

Spouse:  Willie (Millie) May Young - 24 June 1939 - Anderson County, Texas
Informant:  Mrs. Josephine Hamilton - 14 May 1956

Mr. Charlie R. Stephens,  first child of Mr. and Mrs. Felix Stephens, was born October 2, 1909 in the Mt. Zion Community. 
He affiliated with the Mt. Zion Baptist Church at an early age.  After moving to Palestine he united with the West Union Baptist Church where he served as deacon and chairman of the Brotherhood.  He was a faithful and devoted member until his passing.
He was a member of the Mt. Vernon Lodge No. 252 of Palestine.
He was married to Josephine Hamilton on May 14, 1956.
He leaves to mourn his death his wife, Mrs. Josephine Stephens; one son, Charlie R. Stephens, Jr.; three daughters, Mrs. Shirley Jamerson of Alaska, Mrs. Blossie Johnson of Huntsville and Mrs. Charlene Hutchinson of Palestine; four sisters, Mrs. Ida Mae Bennett of Palestine, Mrs. Georgia Malone of San Francisco, Mrs. Ruby Stone of Corsicana, Mrs. Pearl Smith of Rome, New York; three brothers, Mr. Felix W. Stephens, Jr., Mr. J.O. Stephens both of Palestine and M r. Leonard Stephens of Dallas; four grandchildren; three aunts; one uncle; a host of other relatives and friends.
